How do tasks and escrow work?

A task is a single filing or renewal done for you by a vetted runner at a fixed price. Your money sits in escrow until the work is proved.

The lifecycle of a task

1. Draft: the task exists but nothing is committed.
2. Quoted: the fixed price is set.
3. Paid into escrow: your money is held, not yet paid out.
4. Assigned: a runner takes it on.
5. In progress: the runner is doing the work.
6. Evidence submitted: the receipt or certificate is uploaded.
7. Quality check: Sahihi staff look at the evidence.
8. Completed: the work stands and the runner is paid.

A task can be cancelled at any point up to evidence being submitted. Once evidence is in, the only ways out are completion or a dispute.

What escrow protects

The quality check is done by Sahihi staff. A runner cannot pass their own work, and neither can you.

If something goes wrong

You can dispute a task at the quality check or after completion. From there, three outcomes are possible:

• Back to work: the runner returns to it and resubmits.
• Completed: the evidence stands and the funds are released.
• Cancelled: the task ends.
